Jailbroken at 4.2.1, decided to install 4.3 and wait for new jailbreak- restore hangs

Anyone know what I can do? I thought I could just install 4.3 over my jailbroken 3gs that was previously at 4.2.1

It will not restore and it hangs about at the bottom of the right apple logo on the phone. So how do I restore back to 4.2.1 or jsut go to 4.3? How do I get past this hanging?

Please help me- thank you.

Try a DFU mode restore.

OK I will do that if what I just tried does not work- i found an old thread from last year saying that wifi-sync was the culprit on the computer- so i uninstalled it and now am trying again. Thank you.

Yes, Wifysync wont let you restore and make sure your hosts file point to Apple's servers and not redirecting to Cydias.

Definitely uninstall Wifi Sync on your Mac/PC if it's installed. It will make the restore hang.

Do you have to uninstall it from the phone and computer, or just phone? Which is the culprit?
