I have iTunes 11.1 but when I plug my iPhone in, I get the prompt to download & install 6.1.4 first. With a jailbroken phone, do I have to get 6.1.4 before getting the prompt for iOS7?

I tried OTA & the phone just checks for updates but doesn't find anything.

OTA wont work since most jailbreaks block that. I would restore 6.1.4 to remove JB and update to 7.0.

Restore directly to iOS 7. Why restore to 6.1.4?

At the moment iTunes isn't giving me the option. It's telling me that the latest version is 6.1.4. Any ideas?

I tried to update to 6.1.4 but was told "<iPhone name> does not have permissions to access resources". (Or something like that).

I tried to Download and Update, and just Download but got the same error each time. I also cannot restore my iPhone thru iTunes, so I'm doing a full reset from the handset. Once that's complete I'll try to get 6.1.4 then 7, or better yet, just 7 if I'm lucky.

um do not do a full reset on the phone if you're jailbroken.

Thanks All. I got into DFU mode (display totally blank), then iTunes flashed a 6.1.4 message before giving me iOS7 details and agreement. Now I have a generic recovery mode window, downloading software. No estimate of time remaining or any other indicators.

I know the servers are slammed today so I'm just gonna leave the i5 hooked up & check iTunes for some sign of progress every now & then.
