You should search the forum, as there are many other threads on this topic, some from the past few days even.

No, it is not possible. You can only install firmware which is being signed by Apple. As of now, Apple is only signing 7.1.1. There is no way to install any firmware other than the most recent.

Well, unless you have an original iPhone and then you can downgrade from 3.1.3 to 1.1.4!
(Proven on another thread...)

:)

Apple didn't require SHSH authentication prior to iOS4, so old - way old - iPhones can be upgraded/downgraded in way old iOS firmware - this has been long known.

But this thread is about an iPad 2 so none of this is relevant.

so no need to go through old posts since you gave me the answer that can't be done and i must update to the latest firmware which is signed by apple which is 7.1.1 and that what i don't want because this version is not jailbroken yet.
is there a work around or any trick to do that job ?
thank you in advance

If you wish to upgrade, your choice is 7.1.1 only (unless you have had your iPad 2 a long time and just want to re-restore it to iOS4 or iOS5 - Complete SHSH REQUIRED)

My answer was that it can't be done. There is no work around. Your two options are:

1) Stay on 5.1.1 and remain jailbroken
2) Update to 7.1.1 and lose the ability to jailbreak
