Jailbroken iPhone 4 on 5.0.1 w/ 4.11.08- Using the AT&T unlock?

My contract just ended and I contacted AT&T to unlock my phone and they haven't sent me the "instructions" yet but my question is this-

Is there any reason to save the BB at this point if the phone is going to be unlocked through AT&T since I've been planning on upgrading to 5.1.1 and jailbreaking it with absinthe 2.0.4.
