I had my iPhone 3gs jail broken and working fine until recently, it having connection issues with my wifi network at home. When I'm out and about it connects with public wifi networks such in cafe's, bars, etc. But under the iPhone's wifi network setting > choose network...when I choose my network it briefly connects for a millisecond then goes into the spinning ball.

What could be blocking the connection?

I am no expert, but if the phone is connecting to other wifi access points it seems like something must have changed in your wifi signal. Did you recently get a new modem, router, or set up security? It would be strange that something in the iPhone would just decide that it does not like your wifi anymore.
