I really screwed up badly and found myself with an jailbroken iPhone that will only show the Apple logo. I made a mistake by selecting the "Erase All Data and Settings" on the reset page. I've tried multiple ways to getting it into restore mode, specifically http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808. I don't even see the connect the iTunes. Is there any way that I can try and get my phone to work?

I am using iPhone 3GS and it had the 3.1.2 firmware.

Thanks. I did try that originally but I found that the one thing I changed was that I kept holding the home button for a really long time. Maybe 30 or 40 seconds. Hopefully that helps someone else with a similar problem.

It shouldn't take that long... Usually when I do it I only have to hold the first combination for 10 seconds and then the second stage for about 15 seconds. Anyway, have you managed to get iTunes to recognise your phone is connected yet? Or do you even hear the usual USB connected sounds Windows make when a new device is detected?
