I'm sorry if this has been asked but after searching for awhile it's difficult to find any relevant hits that aren't just links to youtube.

I have a jailbroken ipod touch and at some point YouTube has completely dissapeared off the springboard. The Customize App doesn't seem to allow you to make it visible either.

Does anyone have any idea's on what I can do to get this back? Or is this simply a result of the hack with no work around.

Thank you,

James

restore and re-jailbreak...thats my suggestion

well it says in his post that customize app won't let him change anything to visable...

ah yes see there is a option in latest customize which you have to press first to set things to visible or not. there is an eye in the top right corner if you press it the eyes next to apps will light up, find you tube single click on it shoud make the eye light up and your set.

Thanks everyone. I was actually able to solve my own problem. If anyone is interested this is how I was able to fix it.

I edited the file /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N45AP.plist
Part of the file is below
Code:
<key>special</key>
                <array>
                        <dict>
                                <key>displayIdentifier</key>
                                <string>com.apple.youtube</string>
                        </dict>
                        <dict>
                                <key>displayIdentifier</key>
                                <string>com.apple.DemoApp</string>
                        </dict>
                </array>

It seems that anything that appears after this
Code:
<key> special </key>
will not be shown and can not be modified by Customize.app. By moving YouTube above this line into the previous array the problem seems to have been resolved.

Thanks again for the responses I appreciate the input.

*cut*

I don't have the utility to take screen shots but if this were my screen. Youtube would not have had an eye next to it at all. It was similar with Demo.app as well but since I don't want that shown I didn't worry about moving that one anyway.

Thanks,

James

Yah it shouldn't if it's invisible. You have to click the eyecon (haha) at the top right first, then click the youtube app, then an eye will appear next to youtube. Click the eye at the top right again to exist the visible editing mode :) Hope that helps.

Now that you've explained it like that this makes sense.

Thanks.
