I can't see the video (I'm on a dial-up connection), but it will be from a documentary he did not long ago. It's playing on SkyTV here in New Zealand this week.

He also did another series looking at old toys called "James May's Toy Stories" which has just finished here and was quite good. He took favourite old toys like and tried to re-introduce them to current generations.

I'm just about to go and watch the latest Top Gear special which ends the current season here. :)

James May is a legend! The kind of guy you'd want to be your dad when your a child...

Didn't Brian Cox also go up to that altitude in an old Lightning plane to see the atmosphere in the Wonders of the Solar System program? Took off virtually vertically :)

He went to 60,000. The official ceiling of the Lightning.

One of the best Top Gear spots in a very long time. Great post.

Of course after last weeks episode I'm left wondering, did James feel a tingle in the base of his penis durning that flight.
