I have a Japanese keyboard and am running the Japanese version of OSX 10.6.5 on a MBP bought in Japan with a 9400M nVidia GPU. I want to install Win 7 Ultimate or Win 7 Pro in a VM (still have not decided on Parallels or WMware). Because I am not an experienced Windows user I would much prefer to use the English version - both for the VM and the actual Windows install, but I wonder if I would run into any keyboard or other language related issues?
Any advice appreciated.

You can install an English version of Windows without any problems.

The only issue you may have is by default the keyboard will probably map slightly differently. All the alphanumerics will be the same but you may have different keys for @ and " and ; and so on. It's a minor issue though. I'd guess you can actually change the keyboard layout somehow from inside Windows but I don't know how.
