Jason Sudeikis has won a Golden Globe award for "Best Television Actor in a Musical or a Comedy" thanks to his performance in the hit Apple TV+ comedy series "Ted Lasso."

"Ted Lasso" was also nominated for the "Best Television Series" award but was beaten by HBO Max comedy drama "Hacks." Other "Ted Lasso" actors including Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein were nominated for "Best Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series," but fell short of bagging an award on the night.

This is the second time running that Sudeikis has won a Golden Globe in the "Best Television Actor" category for his performance on "Ted Lasso." The third season of the popular series is reportedly under production and will premiere on Apple TV+ sometime this year.

I guess a lot of people like it. I sorta enjoyed the first season but afterwards it became too... nice? I don't know how to describe it exactly. Everyone is too damn pleasant. I know it's a feel good show but I find it a bit unrealistic.

I'm more of a It's Always Sunny..., Curb Your Enthusiasm and The League kinda guy.

You would like season 2 better then as many of the complaints about that are that it turned darker. I enjoyed both.

I enjoyed S2 of Ted Lasso, but the comedy series winner Hacks, with Jean Smart also getting an award as the lead, was truly the best comedy I saw last year. Both bone dry funny and occasionally melancholic with great acting and dialogue.

One of the best and darkest episodes is #9, Beard After Hours. S2 is anything but nice. It dodges the facade of pleasantries and dives into darkness.

Fun fact, that episode wasn’t originally part of season 2. Apple asked for two additional episodes in the season after it had been written, so Beard After Dark was born. I thought it was really fun.

We sound about the same. I'm actually rewatching all of Curb right now.

I didn't like the early episodes of S2 as much, but the last few I've watched have been better. It seems they are setting up character conflict (internal and intra) for S3.

Actually didnt even make it through the second season because I had the same feeling....loved season 1

Hacks and Lasso are great shows. The second season of Lasso is darker but the characters are evolving. That season finale you could see coming but that ending...wow. Hacks on the other hand is lighter but more biting. And the writing. Take the Falling episode. Listen to what the two characters are saying while on their cocaine high. Then that totalling out of left field ending. The contrast in writing between lousy network tv and these two shows, and shows like Succession, is extraordinary. You definitely get what you pay for with the really good shows.

Am I not allowed to comment on a public forum? I watched 2 episodes of the morning show. And the submarine movie.

Not impressed with appletv at all
Pretty limited sample size though. Production values for both were excellent even if the stories don't grab you. I dislike both Anniston and the small lady troll - forgot her name in TMS, but the acting was very good and disliked neither in their roles. For All Mankind is very very underrated, IMO. Watched Swan Song last week and loved it. Looking forward to MacBeth.

that episode was terrible...that isn't the reason people watch Ted Lasso. Season 2 as a whole was pretty bad, but really hope it was mostly just setting up season 3.
I disliked S1 and loved S2. How about them "apples"! The 'everything is wonderful" theme is very limiting.

Absolutely LOVED Ted Lasso! Rewatched Seasons #1 & #2 with my daughter, who is doing a PhD in quantum computing — she love it (including season 2).

The standalone episode “Carol of the Bells” (season 2, #4) is a masterpiece that we’ve watched a half dozen times.

“Beard After Hours”, (Season 2, #9) is OK, and it is much darker than any other Lasso episode, but it also stands completely outside the arc of the show. Wish they didn’t develop Beard.

Season 2 is definitely darker and more complex than season 1, but the writing and acting remain off-the-charts excellent.
