I am having a nightmare with my mac and java. I recently updated the java to 1.4.2 and security 2004-002. When I try to launch any stand alone java applications like limewire or launch safari, nothing happens.
I have downloaded the new update 1.4.2_12 which is supposed to fix the problem but no difference.
I have also downloaded the 10.3.9 combo update...no difference.
I have done 2 repair disk permission...nothing
I have entered script into terminal to go back to using Java 1.3.1... no joy.
I am using firefox for browsing the internet but really really really need help fixing this Java problem.
Any info/advice/knowledge would be much appreciated.
