I am trying to play Project Zomboid which is a browser-based java game. The game requires 1.6 Java or greater which was a problem since I have a Leopard macbook. The way that I got around this was by downloading and running SoyLatte to get 1.6 update 24. When I run
Java -version
my computer tells me I am running with 1.6 Java. This also proves to be the case when running a script to test the java version on firefox. However, when I run the script or test the game on safari it tells me I am still using 1.5.8. The reason i can not just play the game on firefox is that there is an issue now allowing the game to display on this browser. The developers say that Safari is the only mac browser I should be using. Did I set a path variable incorrectly for SoyLatte that would make it so Safari doesn't recognize it? Or does Safari simply not work with anything but Apple's Java? If it is a problem with the path I need instructions as I had to look it up for this.
Thanks in advance for the help :)
