I updated Java on my iMac running Mavericks. Although my security settings say Java is enabled, it won't let me open it to look at holiday cottage virtual tours. I get a message saying: "Application Blocked by Java Security. For security, applications must now meet the requirements for the High or Very High security settings, or be part of the Exception Site List, to be allowed to run. More information.
Name: eViewer
Location: (it names the website on which I am trying to watch the virtual tour)
Reason: Your security settings have blocked an untrusted application from running"

Try as I might, I can't change any settings that allow me to use Java.

I have also noticed that my iMac is taking quite a bit longer to start up now.
Any ideas anyone, please?
