Still here.
My mother recently bought a new Intel iMac 17" (I switched her!) and she plays a lot of Yahoo! Games on it. She loves the machine, but the text in the games looks horrible because there is no font smoothing. I told her I can probably fix this with a setting somewhere in the Java Console and found the .app Java 1.4.2 Plugin Settings. Aha!

Ran the .app and there is an option labelled "Smooth all text in Java applets". Aha again!

Ticked that box and applied. Closed Safari and opened it back up. Loaded a game in Yahoo! Games. What gives? It looks the same as it did before?

Is this an LCD-related issue? Is there anyway I can make the games look like they do on my PC w/ CRT monitor?

Sometimes the only reason I create a thread is because I know if I do, I'll figure out the problem immediately after. :D

Safari was set to use J2SE 5.0, not 1.4.2.

Well, does anyone know why I don't have the option to smooth text font (or any other options app) for 5.0?
