I have a fresh install of Lion on my Mac Pro with 4 2TB drives striped with software RAID. I purposely have included the RAID bit because I have had other issues with Lion and installing it on my striped set.

With my fresh Lion install, I have downloaded Java 6 (found here:http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1421) which is specifically for Lion. However when I go to install it, I get:

Alert

This software is not supported on your system.

I have called Apple support and they have no idea why it won't install and suggested no solutions.

Has anyone seen this and overcome it? Any suggestions?

I am thoroughly convinced that installing Lion on a striped set of disks was an afterthought with Apple :p. Not to say that it is what is causing my install issues, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a correlation.

Thank you for your suggestions in advance!
