I have Java on my MB Pro and with the Java scare going on, I was wondering if I should remove it

Apple has already done it for you.

No update required. They keep a "blacklist" that updates every 24 hours to my knowledge.

The browser version, that is. I'm going to just practice safe web browsing to be safe, though.
