i went to Apple Sys. Pref. at the bottom in "other" Java is NOT listed, so does that mean it it NOT in my system ?

i am kinda new at this...., so be kind to me.., please ! :D :D
 
Not sure - I don't see Java in my SysPrefs, but then I don't have it installed so I wouldn't ... ;-)

Easiest way to check is probably to go to a Terminal window & type 'java -version'

If you don't have it installed, it will say "No java runtime present, requesting install" & pop up an install dialog. Just cancel out of the dialog
