New iPhone 4 comes with 4.0.2 installed, I heard 4.0.2 will not jailbreak, is it true? Or there is a workaround?

Lots of threads talking about this, but bottom line, need to wait for 4.1 and the new jailbreak that will come with it. Likely to be pushed to the apple servers in a couple weeks or so (latest rumors say mid-Sept.)

I'm in the same boat. Bought my i4 when I walked into a store that actually had them in stock, ran home about an hour too late to downgrade to 4.0.1 when Apple stopped signing it.

This surprises me with all the advances that have been made from the Dev Team. . . . I guess Apple wins sometimes. hahaha!!

You misunderstand. The dev team CAN jailbreak it, but there's no reason they should waste an exploit on this minor firmware. Apple haven't won anything (and hopefully they never will).

Nobody is going to make a jailbreak for this useless firmware. They and many others have said repeatedly to BACK UP YOUR SHSH BLOBS.

Well i understand that they would wanna hold off till 4.1

as others said this 4.0.1 is a very minor update. only thing it does is close the exploit that Comex/Dev-team used to jail break. they have 2 other known exploits. they will wait for 4.0.2 to come out before releasing the next one that should be a real firmware upgrade. it's just to much work and a waste to a exploit for every firmware release. 4.0.2 is expected soon and the jailbreak will be out soon after.

I think Labman meant to type 4.0.2 closes .pdf exploit
and 4.1 is expected soon.
