Hey guys, tried reading a bunch of threads on these topics but keep having uncertainties.

I currently have a 4S that has a JB on 5.0.1 and has been jailbroken for a long time now. I'm not too worried about losing the jailbreak and am interested in trying out iOS6.

Can I simply update through iTunes to iOS6 and it will keep my original Apple apps and simply delete the Jailbreak mods?

Or do I have to restore to "new device" before updating to iOS6?

When I previously jailbroke, I had all sorts of issues and pretty much Jailbroke a new device with no backup. Since then, I put all my settings on while the phone was jailbroken.

Thanks for the help!

So can I back up with all the jailbreak apps and iTunes will only back up the key Apple things such as apps, messages, settings etc?

Then I can restore as new with ios6 and restore from my backup I did when I had jailbreak?
