JB & unlock iphone 3gs running 3.1.2 (blackra1n tethered)

Hi guys

I'm not a noob when it comes to these things but I'm stumped on this now.

I've got a a new'ish 3GS running 3.1.2, I had JB ages ago with Blackra1n but it's tethered.

It's a new one so its an MC model and baseband is 5.11.07.

Now I need to untether is because its driving me up the wall not being able to restart + I'm getting the whole no wireless problem.

Can I update to ios4 + JB + unlock? I don't mind keeping it on 3.1.2 as long as it's unlocked and JB.

Any ideas? I've looked at spirit but I can't work out what I'm doing seeing as it's already JB on 3.1.2 and I can't afford to loose the unlock.

I believe if you have the new bootrom then you currently can't go to custom iOS4. Do you have SH Blobs saved for 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, because I beileve you can use either of those, run spirit, then install ultrasn0w. And it would give you an untethered jb as well.

I haven't got any SH Blobs saved

Like I said, I'm not too fussed about ios4, just thought it would be nice to have!

my member name is Vpicks on ebay, and i JUST shipped out my 3gs 3.1.2 new bootrom, tethered blackra1n with only 4.0 shsh's saved....sounds like mine LoL

If it is, just live with the tether until the 4.0/4.0.1 jailbreak is released. I did for 6 months....

If it is, just live with the tether until the 4.0/4.0.1 jailbreak is released. I did for 6 months....

Not me mate, I got it a while ago now & it was brand new.

Just tried resetting the network settings to fix the wireless and now it's stuck in recovery mode. GREAT.

Ouch,.... Never do resets when jb'd. It's better to do restores. Sorry bud.

Yes, its a bad idea cause things might go wrong.
If using recboot, irecovery or tinyumbrella cant get it out of the bootloop all you can do is update to the latest firmware and wait for the JB and unlock to be out.
