I have my iPhone 4 running 4.0.1 and jailbroken. I tried last night to go into the free case program to get my free bumper, and it flashed up a screen that said that my phone was not eligible for the upgrade.

Is Apple somehow verifying the JB status of iPhones with that app? Just curious if anyone else is having the same issue.

I very much doubt that.

Did you read the below on the case program site?

For iPhone 4 purchases made before July 23, 2010, you must apply no later than August 22, 2010; otherwise, you must apply within 30 days of your iPhone 4 purchase. To qualify for this program, you must purchase your iPhone 4 by September 30, 2010.

Like the other posters said your 30 days probably ran out.

Myself, I got 5 cases for the price of 1 :)

Bought a bumper before case program announced. Once Case program went into effect, Apple automatically refunded my card for the bumper. I then ordered my free case as well through the app. I then got a Warranty Replacement Iphone 4, and ordered another case via that phone.

Also, on launch day I purchased a Speck Candyshell case, and the way they did the camera cutout causes the flash to distort the image. So, I emailed Speck and I can pick any case I want from them for free, and still keep the old case.

So, 5 cases, only payed for the original Speck. :)

... and I'm sure you'll need all 5. That's like saying, "Apple sent me 5 pairs of earbuds!" I guess that's kind of cool, but also not very useful.

Gave 1 to my girlfriend, who I purchased an Iphone 4 for. One is particularly durable, so I use it when I am working out or doing something where I think I could drop or damage my phone. One is sleek, the Griffin Reveal etch, I think that'll be my main case. And i believe the Incase case has a kickstand feature which may come in handy.

I haven't even ordered the Speck replacement yet, but I'm sure I'll find some use for it.

I don't feel too bad about it, considering my Iphone 4 has the antenna problem, proximity issues, and feels like it can shatter from a single insignifigant fall.

I don't think it's any coincidence Apple released their first consumer iphone case, on the same model which happens to have antenna issue, and their case happens to only cover the antenna. They can't admit their mistake now b/c it'd be too costly financially, but engineers/execs have been fired over this.

Damn, my bad:D
I thought the program expired last month.
Meant to put august:)

Are you smoking something while visiting the forums? :)

I imagine the OP waited too long, as stated in an earlier post. I had my phone with a reminder just to make sure I didn’t miss it. My case is currently not being used, since I couldn’t get it to work with my old 3G case, which is a flip case.

OP, You "might" an option left according to this

Customers who buy an iPhone 4 after Sept. 30 will not be able to request a free case through Apple's "Case Program," but they will be able to contact AppleCare to request a free Bumper

Probably worth a call to see if you can still get a bumper instead of a case.

Nope, just a blonde moment I guess:D

Let's see...

FACT: Apple told me my phone wasn't eligible for a free case.
POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS:
1. The offer has expired for my phone.
2. Apple knows I jailbroke my phone.

I'll take Explanation 2, Alex.:D
