Hey guys,

I recently purchased a new 'cheap' keyboard (see Jelly Comb Wireless Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard) to replace my second water damaged Apple wired full-sized keyboard (doh!). I specifically went for one that features the multimedia keys as I love being able to easily change these settings from the keyboard, be it volume or play/pause. Unfortunately, despite what the instruction manual says - once connected via bluetooth, when I access the keyboard preferences via system prefs I only get two of the simple options, key repeat and delay [see below].

Through the accessibility settings I have been able to reinstate the mission control and launchpad hotkeys, but sadly there's no obvious way of assigning the other functions that I'm looking for. Has anyone had the same experience either with similar or the same accessory, or is there sure fire ways to get around it?

Thanks,

Lewis

I've not come across this problem, but I suppose you could use an app like Spark (free) to assign shortcuts to the keys you want. Don't let the 1997-style web page fool you. The app is fantastic and works with all modern macOS versions.

Fantastic, thanks! Will give this a try shortly and edit my post with the results.

EDIT: Unfortunately, seems to be a dead end as the key binds aren't recognised. I need to get to the bottom of what this keyboard has firmware wise, it's doing in my noggin! I have contacted their support to see if they will be any help and I'll post my findings.

What's listed under the Shortcuts tab?

Hi! I also have a jelly comb keyboard and have the same issue with the fn keys! Hope a solution is found!

Sadly I contacted their EU support and they were utterly useless, dismissive and unresponsive. Looks like a crud product and I would not recommend it for the after sales alone.

me too! they took ages to reply and then sent me a new keyboard, but the same as the one I had. also their webpage doesnt have all the products and info...oh well. the fn keys are not the most important thing, but quite annoying that they dont work. I gues it is something with the M1 Chip, cause i tried on my old MBP and it worked! The search for a cheap alternative to the apple keyboard continues!
