Figured I’d write a short review for the JETech Tempered Glass for the Pro 12.9 works with 3rd to 5th gen. NOT Sponsored, not even going to include a Amazon link. You guys should be savvy enough to find it - Look up jetech tempered glass screen protector ipad pro 12.9 it comes in either a single or two pack. Hope this helps whoever especially if you stress and are terrible with screen protectors like me.
INSTALLATION
The most stressful part for me on any device. I’m glad to report the tape+hinge method they provide is pretty easy. Much better than any frame I’ve tried which always just ended up screwing everything up more than actually helping. 8/10
TOOLS PROVIDED
I feel like this gets overlooked by some people but it’s really important to avoiding dust ESPECIALLY on a large screen. I’ve dealt with wipes and microfiber cloths in the past that did more damage than actually cleaning the screen. Same for the tape to remove the dust which can leave marks. Everything JETech provided though did the job and didn’t leave any marks or scratch the screen. I’ve collected MANY microfiber cloths by now and the JETech ones are great. 10/10
SCREEN QUALITY
Not much to say here it’s clear and preserves the image quality. Reflectivity will be more noticeable if you’re using in the sun which is fairly normal. I never found the stock reflectivity coating that Apple puts on the bare screen to be amazing anyways there was still a bit of glare and reflections. 9/10
SCREEN RESPONSIVENESS AND SMOOTHNESS
This protector actually adds Oleophobic coating that is nice and smooth unlike the bare iPad screen. Modern iPads nowadays have a special coating that’s extremely easy to smudge right away… its so the Apple Pencil feels more natural and doesn’t slide. I don’t have a Apple Pencil atm to test so it might potentially be a issue for those who want more resistance in their drawing. Keep it in mind. The responsiveness is still good for the first time on a iPad I don’t feel like it’s a issue In the past I always felt like it got reduced on my Pro 10.5 and Air 4 10/10
DURABILITY
Not going to test this on purpose lol. Mainly using this for scratches and god forbid if I actually drop it then hopefully the extra glass layer helps a bit though I don’t expect it to. Tempered glass is always much weaker than anything modern phones or tablets have nowadays so it’s always something I use for scratches and peace of mind. MobileReviewsEh is a good channel to checkout on YouTube if you guys want to see durability tests for both iPhones and iPads. N/A/10
That is all. Honorable mention goes to amFilm which I used on my past Pro 10.5 it did all these things great as well, but the responsiveness was a bit off in my experience and installation was a bit harder using just pull tabs and having to allign yourself. Dishonorable mention goes to Sparin which I used on my Air 4 the installation was awful with its tray and the screens had no oleophobic coating + the screen was noticeably less responsive. I can’t obviously confirm the experience with these same brands would be the same on the 12.9, but I had to mention it. For my phones I never really had a bad experience with any brand everything worked as it should except sometimes being a challenge to install. For iPhones I recommend the Spigen glass.tr ez fit for the best overall experience.
