Jimmy Fallon finally used his rMBP on tv last night previewing the Roots new album.

... FINALLY, I thought that thing was a prop.

Yeah, he's an apple fan, but all things being equal, I really don't look to see what celebrities use for computers and what not.

He switched to a rMBP when he moved to the 11:35 time-slot in Feb.

He uses it all the time. It's just not obvious how he's using it.

Notice how they covered up the logo so it's not a product placement. I've seen the same on The Mentalist and CSI. Big Bang Theory also covers up the logos on their machines.

I meant does anyone know if he has the 1TB 16GB 2.6 GHz one?

I would assume so as rich as he is.

Just because you have money shouldn't mean you have to waste it. ;)

With what he's doing on the show, he would be doing fine with the 15" base model.

Honestly, my guess would be Apple gave him one fully loaded as long as he keeps it on his desk without covering up the logo for at least one show. Imagine, they get SOOO many viewers each episode. That's the cheapest advertising Apple can get. It's also a celebrity endorsement.

I'm not going to lie. I am a bit jelly (for you south park fans). I really wish I had a 15" 2.6GHz maxed out notebook. I have a 13" 2.6 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD.

But I can't complain :apple:

i mean, in this example, i'm guessing jimmy fallon actually just likes using apple products and thus apple probably didn't do anything.

Does it matter?

Only someone with direct access to the machine, access to the serial number or that was the person in Apple that handed it to him/the show would be able to tell you what specs it has.

was this a serious question? will it impact your buying decision knowing what fallon uses? I can guarantee you that he didn't buy it out of his own pocket.

NBC probably paid. Or apple. None the less his net worth is $25 million. $3K is a drop in the bucket for him!

$2799 will get you a refurb of the ultimate model. $2629 will get you the ultimate minus the 2.6, which is what I have. Not a bad deal at all.

I actually had the 15" with 2.6 GHz i7, 16GB RAM, and a 512 SSD, but I returned it for a 13" with 2.6 GHz i5, 8GB RAM, and a 256 SSD.

I saved about $1,000 and bought me an Xbox One :D

I returned it because it was defective (creaking, uneven screen, freezing up, etc) but ALSO because there are no games for Mac!!! Where's Battlefield? CoD Ghosts?

So I bought the Xbox One for gaming. Xbox One is *sick*

I just don't see Jimmy Fallon as a refurb kind of guy.
