I have a Logitech MX Revolution mouse that skips about my screen like a hyperactive child. I tried it on my flatmates MacBook and it worked fine.

Anything that might be causing interference?

I've got all the current software updates etc - I don't think it's got anything to do with them though as so does my flatmate.
 
Have you tried it on different surfaces? Not all surfaces work well with optical mice.

Have you had it tested for ADD? You might want to download and install Prozac 3.2 or Valium 1.7. :D
