I’m not a massive boxing fan, but did anyone see this fight? I have to say, what a boxer Joe Calzaghe is. And what a decent, genuine guy as well. Just from the look of Jeff Lacey, you’d have been forgiven for thinking that he’d just pound Calzaghe, but what a consummate boxing performance.

I love it when someone like Calzaghe that just tears apart an arrogant thuggish and disrespectful brute like Lacey who was sent over to knock him out. The Americans tried the same trick ten years ago on Nigel Ben with Gerald McLellan – it didn’t work then, it hasn’t worked now.

Still, I hope the guy isn't hurt in any major way - he did take a beating and kept in there. Anyway, it looks like some people are going to be forced to eat their words.

JAMES TONEY - former super middleweight world champion

Joe Calzaghe-Jeff Lacy is a mismatch. Lacy is going to destroy that boy. He's too strong, he's a fighter - he's proved himself.

Calzaghe never did anything. He beat Chris Eubank nine years ago, but what has he done since then? He's a joke, that's why he keeps pulling out of fights.

I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out of this one. Everybody in the UK is over-protected, but Lacy will be OK, because he's a fighter.

3 words.......OH MY GOD...............

What an awesome fight. Calzaghe's moves were just poetry in motion. That potato got "his ass wupped" or whatever the Americans say.

We all stayed up and glad we did. Calzaghe is a one of the best pound for pound in the world without a doubt.
