John F. Nash Jr., the Nobel-winner and subject of the movie "A Beautiful Mind" died at the age of 86.

Yes, I spotted this story on the BBC, where both he and his wife were killed in a car accident.

A beautiful mind, a difficult man, an amazing life story, and a man who came up with some incredible ideas and mathematical models which utterly transformed our understanding of our world. RIP.
 
I just saw this. They were in a taxi that crashed.:(

The Nashes were in a taxi traveling southbound in the left lane of the New Jersey Turnpike, State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams told USA TODAY, when the driver lost control while trying to pass another vehicle. The taxi crashed into the guard rail and then into another car in the right lane.

The Nashes were ejected from the taxi, and were pronounced dead at the scene, Williams said.The taxi driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
