Hello everyone,

If I join one of our macbooks to our windows enterprise domain, will the local user profile that was on the machine be delete? What can I do to keep it and keep it accessible with the files after the macbook is on the domain?

Also I don't know the OS on the machine now

Thank you!

No the local user won't be deleted. It's quite easy to join a Windows domain on the Mac, but removal is much more difficult.

After I join the domain, how can I transfer the files of a local user, to a user that is part of the domain in the macbook?

Assuming you've configured Active Directory in Directory Utility to force the home folder on the startup disk, you'll probably want to connect to the server from the local account and move the files to the server. Then once you've signed in as the AD user on the Macbook, move the files from the server to the AD user on the Macbook. Make sense? There is no "syncing" of files with the server with this particular arrangement & I'm not sure in my experience that Macs syncing files with file servers is a good idea. Keep it simple.

Hello,
Can you please elaborate more on that part?

Thank you!!
