Sounds like he wanted to defend his design... He knows something we don't (but thats expected)

I don't live in the uk so I don't read the uk thread. So it's a welcome post as it's something I haven't seen yet.

You should snoop around in there from time to time, we post some good stuff to you know ... it's not all about the Brits reading what Americans post on MacRumors. ;) :D

Regarding Jonathan Ive though, he's an extremely private and somewhat shy individual, so I cannot see why the BBC have time touted as the "successor" to Steve Jobs. Unless, however, the role of CEO changes if Ive takes over and the likes of Cook and Schiller do the keynotes while Ive calls the shots from behind the scenes.

Old.

Was posted in the UK thread a while back.

Sorry was the UK thread that contained over 15,000 posts? If so then I really couldn't keep up with that and the search didn't pick it up.

So apologies.

"tipped to be the next CEO..."

Wow, that's the first I've ever heard of that rumor/speculation. He might be a great designer - I have to admit that - but CEO of Apple? Even if Steve Jobs dropped dead right now as I'm typing this that simply would never happen... Phil Schiller would most likely be the one that would step up or be handed the job... interesting.

I can't see Ive taking the CEO position; however I do wish to have Steve Wozniak grab the apple ranks. He's still, technically, an employee there!

There has been some speculation about it before. Ive is a great designer and shares a lot of the creative vision with Steve. I can't see him as the next CEO though. If it were to happen in the near future it would be Tim Cook. He understands how to run the business that Apple has become.

It wouldn't be Schiller, it would be Tim Cook, who took over while Jobs was undergoing treatment.
