Joseph Stefano ("Psycho", "The Outer Limits") dies

Joseph Stefano, who wrote the screenplay for Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller "Psycho" and was the influential first-season producer-writer of the 1960s science-fiction anthology TV series "The Outer Limits," has died. He was 84.

Stefano, who underwent surgery for lung cancer in 2001, died of heart failure Friday at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, said his wife of 52 years, Marilyn.

Man! Much as I liked "Psycho", my real appreciation for Stefano comes from The Outer Limits (the original series). I remember being a kid and watching those extremely scary stories with that creepy Dominic Frontiere music and the gothic black-and-white photography by Conrad Hall.

That's a great legacy to leave.

Aw man, that is sad news. I loved the "Twilight Zone" series and "Psycho" is a fantastic movie.
