So some friends and I (all living in the same house of course) bought a family pack of leopard. Upgrades on most of the machines went fine. One MBP had trouble recognizing the Tiger Volume, but eventually did.

On one of the Macbooks (C2D mid 2007) something weird is happening. The Leopard installer refuses to install because it says Macintosh HD is not Journaled and will only install if the hard drive is reformatted and journaled. Funny thing is, Disk Utility (both in Leopard installer and in Tiger) says journaling is enabled. Using the command line disk utility enableJournal reports that Journaling is enabled. Even after running diskutil disableJournal and then enableJournal again doesn't work.

The only thing I can think of is that after running boot camp, the windows partition was reformatted for linux rather than windows... But that shouldn't have affected the journaling of the JHFS+ volume...

Any thoughts?
