As a photographer, I truly love Finder's ability to display icon previews for JPGs. The standard Finder icon for a JPEG image sucks, and I am used to the icon previews. However, at some point, this stopped working, and it is doing my head in.

And it is different depending on the folder I am looking at; A folder on my Mac opens fine, and I can see the previews, but a folder on my NAS does not - I am using SMB to access the shares on my NAS.

Is this a "me" problem or a common issue?

Hi. Did you ever get this figured out? I have this issue with one folder on my MacBook Air HD. I've tried all sorts of suggestions, but I still only see what you're seeing on your NAS. Thanks.

Yes - I got it sorted out. I am unsure (it's been a while), but I believe I upgraded MacOS. For JPGs, it was that, and I found that for RAW/NEF files, I updated "Raw Right Away".
