I Just upgraded the memory on my new Mac Mini to 16gig of PC3-12800 DDR3 204-pin SO-DIMM from Crucial.
Well, I have a poor friend in college with a June 2009 MBP that uses PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM SODIMM 204pin memory.
Can I let her have the 4 gigs from my mini for her MBP. If I try it, will it 'brick' her MBP. I have to ask that question. Her parents would be very mad and my credit card would hurt if I had to replace or repair her MBP...
Thanks,
R

It won't brick anything, but most likely it won't work either.

I found that 2 x 4GB 1333MHz(PC10600 I believe) RAM works in my mid 2009 MBP.

Thanks All!

I'll just spread a litlle Christmas Dough around! I'll purchase new. Her folks don't understand the need for memory, so I'll be Santa for this little bit.
