Hey everyone! Welcome back to another fantastic month. I’ve got a bit of a challenge this month - I need to double my move goal for at least two weeks! Summer’s here, and with finals and my graduation looming, plus I just started a new job at NASA L’Space , things are going to be a bit hectic. But hey, I’m up for it!

Oh, and don’t forget about World Running Day coming up on June 4th! It’s a great opportunity to run a 5K and earn some cool iMessage stickers and an exclusive badge for the Activity app. So, lace up your shoes and let’s get moving!

@nailb thanks for the well wishes friend I appreciate it. And welcome to Mac rumors forums… why not show your activity challenge if you are an Apple Watch wearer?

"Earn this award by walking and running at least 5.95 miles on 14 different days this month."

I *should* be able to do this, but I am on vacation for 13 days this month, and don't plan on any workouts wheel I am gone, but should be walking a lot while I am gone. But if I don't make it, always, that's ok.

Mine is ridiculous. I'm not ring fixated and, while I completed all three rings most days this past month, my June Challenge wants me to do that 28 out of 30 days!

Not gonna become compulsive or controlled by the *$#!@! Watch!

Is there any way of declining a challenge and asking for a different one — say, tailored to a different metric, or to a type of activity or workout one wants to concentrate on?

Or, even a creative alternative that combines indicators or extends one's performance, say, vis-à-vis oxygen level, heart rate while walking, etc.

Regardless of one's stance on the Watch, its rings, and its Pavlovian conditioning — Apple should give us the option to reject a challenge and get one we feel is more suited to our interests, goals, needs, etc.

In fact, it'd be cool if Apple would let us create our own challenge and have the Watch monitor it for us and give encouraging tips — and suggestions of different ways of accomplishing it — during the month. Not just a prompt with a number!

Last month was laughable for me. The challenge was to complete a certain number of workouts during the month.

Well, about the third week or so, it was clear that there weren’t enough days left in the month for me to succeed — I was going to be one shy even if I did a workout every day. Yet, the Watch kept reminding me of the challenge during the next two weeks — telling me how many days I had done a workout and what the unreachable goal was! 😎

I chuckled each time and wished Apple's had programmed it more sensibly!

In any case, I ignored the prompts, did my usual, and ended up only two shy.

so the short answer: no, you cannot customize a challenge. What you can do is adjust your goals, any one of those or all 3.
This has been topic in the mthly threads many times in the past, more when the challenges were ever increasing which Apple stopped like 2.5 years ago.
For those 2.5 years my challenges have been 14 times calories/exercise minutes/ distance walked or run. those are not challenges for me personally but others get different ones.

Best suggestion (short of the customization you mention) is to set your own goals and just focus on that, whether or not you meet the AW challenge, not critical if you track and meet your own goals.

I participate here cause its a fun crowd primarily, I can care less for the actual badge.
The one badge I do care about is the "longest move streak"
