Cricket Communications announced that it will begin offering the iPhone on June 22.
What is interesting is the price:
What is to stop people going to Cricket and get an unlocked 4S for $499 and then switch to another carrier a month later. Of course Apple almost never gives deals price breaks, especially this large.
After all, the 4S is somewhat mobile when it comes to switching carriers.
What comes to mind is these will be will be "old model" discounted phones, becuase that is exactly what Apple did to first the 3GS and then 4 when new models come out.
(Note the estimate of a $150 drop instead of $100 in past. Will Apple sell new iPhone 5 for less?)
June 22 is almost exactly 2 years (369 days) since the introduction of the AT&T iPhone 4. It could still be a few days before or after the day, maybe June 24, but with June 22 being Tuesday, sounds about right.

with the iPhone 4 priced at $399.99 and the 16 GB iPhone 4S priced at $499.99. The discounts of $150 off of Apple's standard pricing for unlocked handsets are in place even though customers are not required to sign service contracts.
