So i discovered that even though i paid full price for the iPhone 4G that AT&T has renewed my contract without my permission and AT&T says that there is nothing they can do about it.

They claim this is Apple's policy.

Did you agree to a contract when you bought it, i.e. does the receipt state that or anything you signed? Seems to me they can't change a contract "just because" without your approval.

This doesn't sound right as I remember even seeing a FAQ on Apple's site about no commitment pricing. It simply said that you must go to a store to purchase the no commitment phone.

Where did you buy your phone?

Nope , I didn't agree to anything because i paid full price so there was no contract renewal. They are saying that Apple is requiring the 2 year contract and they can't change.

Yup i paid full price.

Wait wait...I know what happened. You got screwed man, I would return it. You CANNOT purchase it online without a contract renewal (https://buyiphone.apple.com/WebObje.../gw9riqy0KVeRMp5C6DjVWg/0.0.0.1.26.3.11.5.1.1)

It sounds like what happened was that you were not eligible for any discounts on your current contract, so they charged you full price. HOWEVER, you MUST go to a retail store or ebay to get the no commitment phone. I know it is really stupid, but that's the way they do it.

I paid full price from the Apple online store. When I ordered the order stated it was a custom order without a voice plan. Just checked my upgrade date from AT&T and it has not changed.

LOL next time i will remember that. I got it taken care of though. Business care notated the issue on the account and they are sending me to a COR store with my reciept to have it taken care of.

I'm curious what your ETF will be? I can't see them legally being able to charge the $325 if there was no phone subsidy.

I am pretty sure that everyone's said that regardless of how much they paid. My husband's and mine said that and we paid $199 and $299.

I got screw as well. I just called ATT and Apple, they both suggest I go to the Apple Store. Most likely, they can't fix it. Unless I do a return.

So you are right, if you order online, you will get a new 2 year no matter what you paid. I paid $699 plus a contract to 06/2013.

That's effed up. I was afraid to order from Apple store online for this reason, if you add to card they specifically says 2yr contract required.
