I was wonder if anybody would make an iphone 4 back plate with removable battery door like a regular cell phone so you can switch out the battery with ease?

considering the battery doesn't come out "with ease" and you would have no way to charge the battery or another battery to swap for that matter what would be the point?

Why not, all you need is to retrofit a battery quick disconnect and a door on the back plate.

...then explain where you're going to make room for a hinge sturdy enough to hold the weight of the glass plate, and how you're going to retrofit the battery with a mechanism to make it removable with the available (more like unavailable) space in the interior of the device.

What you are proposing is both pointless and technically difficult.
