Hey all. My girlfriend has been rocking an iPhone 14 128GB, but she graduates from residency here in the upper Midwest USA within the next 3 months, and as a graduation gift I was on the fence what I was going to get her. However, after all the tariff news I pulled the trigger on an Apple iPhone 16 Pro - 512GB - Black Titanium. I would have liked to wait for the 17 Pro as it’s an odd time in the lifecycle of the phone to buy it, but I don’t think that’s an option now. I personally have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and we will be planning to use these phones until the 4 years is over worst case scenario.

TLDR: Anyone else buy an iPhone sooner than they would have liked, or planning to?

I’m not because my plan is to buy one when the new models come out in November. That’s six months from now. IMO it would be silly for me to panic buy now. If I planned to buy in the next month or so it would make sense to buy now.

Would you still buy it if it was 50% higher in price? The 512gb 16 pro is 1299 so it would be almost $2k…

Same boat here....the phone part, not the girlfriend in residency part. 14pm at 82% battery with a scratch on the screen and almost done on att contract. Itching for rounded edges of newer phone and wanting to wait for new 17 but not for tariff prices.

As we see, tariffs will come, tariffs will go, tariffs will increase, tariffs will decrease, tariffs will go up, tariffs will go down….do what is best for you in the long run.

Sounds like an extreme panic buy, especially if one already has a 14.

I know people like to freak out, but things are going to be just fine.
