So just got myself a brand new MacBook Air 2017 model. Is the black border between the screen and the metal chassis of the lid(the area immediately next to the visible part of the screen), is that supposed to perfectly uniform on all for sides?

I checked a friends Air and his gap is smaller at the bottom. Mine is a bit oppsoite. Larger at the bottom compared to the top.

I know I’m being super OCD about this but just wanted to see if this was normal.

in the pic to me the bottom looks thicker band than top.

my 2012 the bottom band is 2-3mm bigger than top band (using a 30cm fixed rule)

but this is a real, not rendered 2017:

looks similar to my 2012 for bezels so bottom might be few filleters bigger than top.

but then a 13" could be different to a 11" model...

yes the bezel, between screen and outer edge of case.

my 2012 model the bottom bezel is few millimetres more than top but sides same.
