Just bought a back plate replacement made for the iPhone 4. Will it work for the 4S?

Probably not. But maybe a Verizon iPhone 4 backplate may work.

If it is the same case design as the iPhone 4 as they say it is then yes. The only problem I see is if they have changed the size of the actual lens not just the opening. (sorry for my primitive talk about the camera parts ] but I think you should be fine. another problem you may find is if it the actual back plate which I am assuming it is, the assembly process may be different because of the new interior.

The pins and slots on the back are different.

yes i believe the back plates for verizon 4 will still work, but no one can say for certain yet.
