Super excited. Was researching and debating between a MBA and MBP. This will be my first Mac ever! Been long time user of iPad and iPhones though.

Was going to go used on MBP via eBay - but even then, they range from $1600-$1800 for base specs. And I don’t want to spend a ton on something that is completely new to me (macOS). I do normal stuff like YT, emails, banking and web. I want to get into video edit but I have my iPad with lumafusion for that.

So I found one on Apple refurbished site and it matched up in what I want for specs and price:

2020 MBA
i7
16 gig ram
512 ssd
Space Grey
Apple Care +
Apple refurbished program
Friend works at Apple helped me with slight discount

All said and done, out the door, $1500!

Thoughts?

Nice computer, but I'm confused how you pulled that price off. I come up with nearly $1800 for the same computer with AppleCare +.

Look at the screenshot attached to my post. It's straight off the Apple refurb website. $1399 for your spec'd computer + $249 for AppleCare plus + tax. = $1783.96. So how did you come up with $1500 out the door?

Tbh- I actually saw a MBP 13, 2019 with i5, 16gig, 256 for $1225 a few days ago and that was snatched up super quick. So there can be extremely good deals on there- just gotta be patient
