Hey everyone, I just bought a new iMac (AMAZING) and was wondering how I can get my iPhones apps, contacts, etc onto it. Please tell me it can be done:(

It can transfer your ENTIRE iTunes library file over to the new Mac. Point iTunes to the folder, and then sync your iPhone to the new Mac.

I if missed a step, someone will chime in.

No, this won't work automatically. When you sync to a new library it will erase the phone and put what is in the new library on the phone. iPhones don't have this sort of backward syncing functionality.

Sorry, I hit the submit button too quick... If you have an external drive large enough you can simply place your entire iTunes folder on the external drive and then onto your iMac.

Yeah, and hell put the music and apps right back on the phone with the sync...

revelation, how would i transfer my pb's library to my imac?

You would need to locate your iTunes music folder and transfer the entire contents to the new Mac.

** Actually come to think of it, why don't you just run Migration Assistant/Wizard and it will transfer everything over including your sync info.**

that worked, now if i only could get the iMac to recognize my external hd!!
