Hey guys,

Finally took the plunge! Pretty impressed with it so far. Just got the stock standard base MBP. Only gripe is a small scratch below the keyboard - nothing i can't live with though.

My only question, is it normal for the dvd drive to make a lound whirring sound when the device restarts, as well as when the lid is opened after closing?

Yeah, it's normal.
 
Yes, that is completely normal. It has done that on all of the MacBook Pros that I have owned (And I've owned 3 different revs of them).
 
Indicator light is now stuck at 99%. Tried searching but couldn't find a solution. Can anyone shed some light?
