Hey guys, been a lurker on the forums here for some time but never posted. I currently have a 24'' iMac and today just picked up the base 13'' MBP.

Just ordered 4GB Crucial Memory and a WD Scorpia 500GB drive, 2 day shipping at NewEgg :D.

Any recommendations on a nice sleeve for my lappy?

Congratulations on the purchase. Hope you enjoy it. An iMac and a MBP 13 seem like a really great combination for desk and portable use. Enjoy.

Thanks guys, and yes its the perfect setup! Quick question, can you not use the backlit keyboard when running on battery?

i love the incase sleeve, the only problem is there is nowhere to put the power cord... but it is simple and keeps the macbook scratch free when in a backpack or other bag...

EDIT: and regarding the backlight keyboard, sometimes it will not let you turn on the backlight for the keys if it senses light around even if it is low enough that you think it should be on...

Thanks guys, I might go with the Incase as I can pick one up locally.

And yes the keyboard is not turning on because of the lighting - my buddy at work wanted to see the backlighting.

Would one of those ebay macbook pro sleeves be ok for the occasional roadtrip? It would be going into a backpack as well. Seems like it's the best bang for the buck for hardly ever taking it anywhere.

You missed a lowespro business bag that sold for retail at 90, it was 12.99 + shipping on amazon haha.
But any sleeve would do.

I have the same laptop. I checked out the incase sleeve but it leave about half an inch or more between the top edge (where the zipper is) and your computer. So it's not "snug." I had a marware sleeve that fit like a glove for my powerbook 15" and I'm looking for the same for my 13" macbook pro. I may just modify my old case to fit the new one.

congrats on your new purchase and good luck!
