So, I just bought the digital AV adapter by apple for my iphone4. It says it's supposed to work, but it won't. I'm playing movie via itunes on my phone, it doesn't give me an option to display out. Am I missing something?

the fact that that product is made for the ipad?

Okay, maybe I need to be a bit clearer..... I'm not trying to mirror. I'm trying to watch slide shows and watch movies from my iPhone on my TV. It works with my component adapter.

Furthermore, On the back of the Digital AV adapter it says:

"HDMI supported by iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4, and iPod touch (4th generation)."

Well. I found the problem. It turns out that my cydia program "ReSupported" was causing some sort of conflict. It's now working just fine.

I asked because I've read online of people having issues with HDMI cables below version 1.3 and with non-HDCP compatible HDMI cables.

I've used HDMI cables of various version numbers without any problems. I've never heard of non HDCP compatible HDMI cables and all cables sold as HDMI should be HDCP compliant.
