iPad Just bought an ipad 4 now I need a case

to the point: Is a keyboard needed for editing photos on the ipad?

I have an iphone 5, a macbook pro mid june 2012, but no ipad. So this is my first ipad. I didn't want to wait for the ipad 5. :apple:

I want to get into photography so my plan is to use my ipad for photo editing. I'm eventually going to buy a Nikon D5200 camera. I might even go all out and get a D7100 or a D7000. I'm not sure yet. Anyway ...

I need a case but I want a cool case. Not a boring plastic POS case. I've been looking at leather book cases - it makes your ipad look like a book. They're really cool but I'm not sure if I'll need a keyboard or not. It makes a difference of getting something cool and something semi-cool. :p The ones with the keyboard don't seem that great per the reviews. I don't want a zagg because it's plastic. I want my ipad to look like a book.

Oh I did buy a lightning to SD card reader to pull in photos from a SD card.

Any suggestions on this kind of case?
Any suggestions on Apps for photo editing?
Any suggestions on photo editing in general?

Photoshop Touch is very nice.

There are already case threads in the accessory section, try there first.

While cool looking, I think the book cases get in the way of usage due to their bulkiness. I like the Portenzo cases instead, and they have the benefit of being 100% made in the US, which matters to me as an American.
 
If you're gonna be putting it inside a bag with your MBP, look into getting a sleeve and a smart cover. I have the Timbuk2 Plush sleeve. When you are showing off your images on the iPad, you can use the smart cover to set it up.

I would skip the entry level D5200 and get the D7000. The price for the D7000 is going down and you will get more features with the D7000 than you would on the D5200.

Right now you can download Lightroom 5 Beta for free. That's a great app to use. I don't do any editing on my iPad, only use it for showing my images. Photoshop has an App you can try. Check out Lightroom Killer tips for some how to-s .

Even though there are a number of threads about cases, I am hoping everyone who buys an iPad starts a new one. You can't have too many iPad case threads.

You might want to try this case called Exogear Exoshift convertible case. Actually, it is leather style sleeve. The website claims that it converts into two different stands with different angles. It really does because my wife has one of those for iPad mini version and it's pretty practical. They make pretty interesting things since I found a while ago.
