I'm in Canada, and the phone is supposedly locked to Rogers. The seller performed a restore before selling it to me, so everything is at its default setting right now. I'm new to this, so does this mean that the phone has been restored to "factory unlocked" mode?

I don't have a Rogers SIM, and don't plan on getting one either (I'm going with another company). This obviously means that I don't know the BB either (I'm locked out of the home screen and can't activate without a SIM).

Is there currently any way of unlocking it (if it isn't unlocked already)? I have until April (when my current plan with another phone expires) to get this iPhone up and running. I've downloaded sn0wbreeze and the IPSW file for 5.0.1 if that helps.

Thanks for your help!

Damn :(
Are there any estimates as to how long it'll be until something comes out?

And what software should I be looking for when something does become available to unlock it?

if you wanted a iPhone unlocked it would have been much smarter to do research before buying. ;) I'm betting there won't be a unlock for a while if ever.

call rogers for an unlock; I have heard of canadian users that pay or for free they unlock their iPhones.
