iPhone 11 Just bought iPhone 11 two days ago..Apple says I must return to price match?

I knew a new phone was coming out but decided to get my wife the 11 the other day because I knew we could price match within the 14 day window.

Called Apple and they said I have to return the phone I currently have? Then buy it again to save $100?

Is this true? Or is my rep incompetent?

Yeah that’s how it works at Apple. Sucks but they can’t just credit you. If you live near an open store I would do it that way.

They had this thing from a long time ago. It is because of the accounting rules used in their system.

This worked, because they didn't realize $100 revenue in part of $600 to $700.

For a company that wants to save the earth and remove charging adapters...seems silly to return a phone, pay for shipping (or drive to store) and get a new phone.

Of course they don't care about saving the earth. All of the stuff taken out from the box costs $70 in my country. Especially those usb-c cables, now we need to run and buy usb-c charger from apple.

Yeah they include usb-c cables to force people to buy usb-c chargers. and most people will buy multiple of them thinking usb-a is not compatible. saving earth lmao.
