...but it is late 2012 model not early 2013 as expected from Apple Store online (Italy).

It's the entry level 2.5.

Is it normal?
I simply want the last model, see the table:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4132?viewlocale=it_IT&locale=it_IT

Any advice?

If Apple advertise it as the newest model on their Italian website they should deliver the new model, if they don't they breach the law by false advertisement, so if the above is the case call them and demand the new model.

Contact them for an exchange. If you were supposed to get a 2.6 (check your receipt) then they will gladly exchange it.

Thanks for the answer.
I choose the 2.5.
The specs of late 2012 and early 2013 are the same but according to the table above there is the 2.5 early 2013 model.

Hurry up and print screen that page before Apple removes/updates it. Request an exchange and if they are giving you ******** then show them the print screen.

There is an Early 2013 2.5. While rare, any new 2.5's that come out of Apple direct are identified with 10,2 and Early 2013. I would call and complain.

What's your model number? MD212LL/A? Or does it start with ME...

Does "About This Mac > More Info" show Late 2012 or Early 2013?

My Mac is still delivering but I have the serial number in my Apple account control panel.
It says Late 2012 and then the serial.

From the serial I can see the week of production is november 2012.

I think they sold only a few Retina 13 when it was at a price of 1779 euros in Italy. (Now is 1529).

I had the exact same problem involving a MacBook Air two revs ago. One phone call to Apple & they courteously & quickly replaced it with the proper model.

It's one of the primary reasons I remain very loyal to Apple. I've never had a bad experience with customer service, the order department, or AppleCare. Many years & many computers later, their strength remains in how they take care of customers :)
