Just bought my first Macbook HDD Question

Hello Everyone,

I just purchased a Macbook MB062LL/B (Late 2007) Specs

I have looked around but can't seem to find the answer. I want to know if it will run with a SATA (3.0 Gb/s) 7200 RPM drive with a 16mb cache? if so, are there size limitations?

It will work with any 2.5" S-ATA HDD with a maximum height of 12.5mm, there is no capacity limitation.
If you find a 16MB cache and 7200RPM HDD, just make sure, that it is 9.5mm high and not higher.

Btw, platter based HDDs never even saturate the S-ATA 1.5Gbps (S-ATA I) interface, as that interface offers approx. 148MB/s, HDDs are lucky when they get 120MB/s (3.5") or 105MB/s (2.5").

Would SSD be a good option? I keep hearing about how much speed they can add (I will be running ProTools 8 so speed is important to me).
